The Alice Prize is for everyone
We encourage entries from all Australians - across diverse cultures, identities, practices and places. Although the Prize is proudly held in Alice Springs, we actively seek work to represent everywhere in Australia.
Our commitment is to show and collect contemporary art that Central Australians may not otherwise get to experience, so our community may learn from it, challenge it and be inspired by it - together.

If you are a finalist you will be notified on 10 February 2026.
2026 Prizes
- 1x The Alice Prize winning entry $30,000 prize (acquisitive)
- 1x People’s Choice winning entry $1000 prize (non-acquisitive)
- Highly Commended awards, at the judges’ discretion
2026 Entry Details Overview
- Any Australian may enter
- Entries are not limited by medium, genre, subject matter or theme (however, there are size and weight restrictions)
- The entry must be an original work, completed after 1 January 2024
- Entry is $60 per artwork
- Artists may submit more than one entry - a separate entry for each artwork is required
- A maximum of 2x digital images (or 1x video link and 1x image) to be submitted with each entry
- No more than one artwork per artist will be selected as a finalist
- Finalists are chosen through a blind selection process, of 3 panelists, from the digital images and artist statement submitted at entry
- All artworks are to be offered and available for sale (Management of the sale process is conducted by Araluen Arts Centre, 33% commission collected)
- Finalists will be responsible for arranging transport and insurance of their work to the Araluen Arts Centre for exhibition and from Araluen Arts Centre (if unsold).
