Vipoo Srivilasa – Serpent II

Serpent II

Vipoo Srivilasa

The vessels have been conceptualised as human bodies for a long time. It is the vessel that contains your breath, your mind and your soul.

The serpent is one of the oldest and most widespread mythological symbols and has been associated with some of the oldest rituals known to mankind.

In Thai culture, the serpent stands guard at all the Buddhist temples and to ward off evil spirits. Thai people believe that the serpent can move between the realm of heaven, earth and hell.

The work shows different kinds of mythical serpents that I create from my imagination. They are protecting the sacred vessel."
