I live in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, an area known for it's natural beauty and wildness of landscape.I document my landscape regularly taking 'portraits' of botanicals and trees. The recent bush fires impacted our area dramatically and decimated beautiful areas of bushland, livelihoods and wildlife. After the fires I have continued my study, focusing on my beloved trees. I found dignity, beauty and resilience in spite of the ravages of fire in those that survived and those marked for 'demolition' or felling due to safety concerns by an indelible cross and number painted in yellow. They remain as living entities growing and regenerating and living proud. Traces of their former beauty and magnificence and beauty as is.
