“This is my painting about my country. When I’m painting it’s coming from my memory, all the knowledge I have of this country – all the places I’ve travelled and the Tjukurpa stories that these places hold. The stories are in the paintings, there’s kalaya tjina (emu tracks), tjukula (rock-holes), minyma (women) travelling, but I don’t like to tell too much. I’ll never forget that my elders taught me to guard cultural stories and sacred sites closely. My paintings are strong and hold all the culture from my country.
